Athens, Hellas and Charlottesville, VA   17 July, 2003

Biovista announced today the official sponsoring of the “First European Summer School on Ontological Engineering and the Semantic Web” (SSSW-2003) held between 21st-26th July 2003 in Cercedilla (Spain).

Organised by the OntoWeb Consortium and Universidad Politecnica de Madrid, this summer school, presented by leading researchers in the field, is the first opportunity for postgraduate students from around the world to equip themselves with the range of theoretical and practical skills necessary for full engagement with the challenges involved in developing Ontologies and Semantic Web applications.

“We are pleased to be sponsoring directly this unique event which aims to promote the emerging technology of ontology engineering amongst young researchers, expose them to relevant problems currently faced by industry and highlight some of the current issues. As a participant of the Ontoweb Consortium, Biovista is directly interested in the promotion of ontology-based technologies which it already employs successfully in its internal processes and products” said Dr. Andreas Persidis, CEO of Biovista.
