The latest release of Biovista Vizit (March 2025) brings the integration of Human Phenotype Ontology (HPO) annotations into the Vizit Knowledge Graph. This is the 3rd corpus integration alongside with MEDLINE after AOP and PDB.
The integration allows for additional links and evidence from HPO, with higher priority since HPO annotations are curated. The newly added links are:
- Disease (or Finding) – Phenotype
- Disease (or Finding) – Gene
- Disease (or Finding) – Medical Action
- Disease (or Finding) – Drug (or Compound)
- Phenotype – Medical Action
- Phenotype – Drug (or Compound)
- Gene – Gene (Update: 2025-03-07)
It is now possible to see all the phenotypes of a Disease e.g. Alzheimer’s Disease as is evident in the top image or drill down to the exact line of supporting evidence.
The reverse query is also very easy to perform i.e: Find all diseases associated with a phenotype.
